Critical Condition
After Gary finally admits to illegal dealings to Sid he ends up in a car accident which leaves him paralysed and in need of a dangerous operation. Abby turns to Richard when her kids have been kidnapped by their own father. Feeling guilty for Sid's accident Gary can't bring himself to go to the hospital to face him and Karen. This was the last episode for Don Murray who played Sid.

After Sid's car ends up going over the cliff the accident leaves him with a recurring paralysis.

Feeling guilty for causing the FBI investigation which leads to the accident Gary throws himself into his work.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Abby turns to Laura's husband to help her find her kids. Eric, Michael & Diana Fairgate want to see their father.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
"Valene tries to get Gary out of the office and to the hospital to see Sid but he refuses."
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Kenny and Ginger injoy feeling their baby while Sid and Karen are faced with a dangerous operation.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Sid tells Karen, "If I don't take this chance, I wouldn't be the same man." Finally Karen signs the forms.

|
|
|

|
|
Gary finds the courage to face Karen & tells her he's leaving town. To his surprise she forgives him.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
While Karen waits Sid gets into trouble as his heart stops and the doctors are unable to revive him.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Karen takes the news of her husband's death like a brave soldier.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Karen listens to Sid's message he left for her on the taperecorder. "My love for you will never die."
